Diabetic Neuropathy Can Be Treated

There are many things you can do on a daily basis to treat mild foot neuropathy. For some diabetics, foot neuropathy is a forgotten problem.

Foot numbness is a loss of feeling or a pins and needles feeling in the foot. A simpler or a larger problem may cause it, depending on the symptoms.

Simpler Causes: If you notice your foot to be numb after sitting in one position for too long, after crossing your feet or after waking up from a deep sleep, and the feeling returns shortly, you probably put too much pressure on your nerve, which temporarily cut off the blood supply. Simple changes in lifestyle can help you avoid foot numbness of simpler causes.

Larger Causes: If the numbness is lasting, if only one foot is affected, if the condition worsens at night, and/or if you experience accompanying pain, you may have a disorder of the nerves, and you should see your doctor. More common larger causes of foot numbness are Diabetic Neuropathy and Multiple Sclerosis.
